Find back 'New Contact' shortcut in Vista

In Windows Vista, the program Windows Contacts behaves differently from Windows XP. When you start Windows Contacts, it is implemented as a special folder in the user folder. A normal view of that folder is given.

However sometimes, especially after you do a system restore, the shortcut New Contact, New Contact Group, Import and Export may be missing. Microsoft hasn't given you any solution to this problem ;(.

To find the shortcuts back, follow these steps.
  1. Go to the parent folder of Contacts directory, right click on the Contacts directory and select properties.
  2. In the popup window, go to the tab 'Customize'.
  3. On the top of Customize view, you will see Use this folder type as a template. Here choose Contacts.
  4. Then click on OK.
Now, all the shortcuts should be back.
